Rollers put two past GU

Township Rollers won Gaborone City bragging right after beating cross town rivals Gaborone United 2 nil, in the BTC premiership played at the National Stadium on Saturday.
Although the Gaborone derby failed to live up to expectation in terms of football display in the field, Mosha Gaolaolwe’s goal on the 20th minute nearly ignited the pace of the game, as Gaborone United piled more pressure looking for an equaliser.
Two minutes after the goal, GU defender Godwin Osei Bonsu denied Lemponye Tshireletso what could have been a clear goal, after clearing a dangerous ball on the line.
However Township Rollers defence marshaled by Tshepo Motlhabankwe protected their territory and thwarted all the Money Machine efforts to penetrate their defence.
The game went into half time with Township Rollers on the driving seat, but after break, Gaborone United continued with their fighting spirit as they continued surging forward but their players were very wasteful.
Gaborone United, coach Rodolfo Zapata made a double substitution pulling out Thato Ogopotse and Jackson Lesole and replaced them with new signees Zambian internationals Jeffrey Sekapite, and Akakulubelwa Mwachiaba.
Just four minutes before full time, Olerile unleashed a cross which ultimately ended up landing on Segolame Boy’s scoring boot put put it at the back of the net to give his side three valuable points.
GU coach, Zapata said in an interview that, his game plan was to attack Rollers, adding that they played very well more especially after break.
Rollers coach, Mogomotsi Mpote thanked his players for their fighting spirit during the game, adding that the game was of two halves with Rollers dominating the first half and GU the other. BOPA
