Substitute goalie saves GNT

05 Feb 2017

Quick thinking and the no nonsense Great North Tigers (GNT) coach, Edward ‘Pro’ Leposo made a quick substitution on the 25th minute of their Debswana First Division North (FDN) game against Tafic, replacing his number one choice goalkeeper with his reserve.

Such a move, though surprising was imminent and saved them from potential loss and more danger after first choice goalkeeper Kabelo Mutumba let in two easy goals to allow Tafic to come twice from behind to eventually force a two all draw in the highly competitive march.

Mutumba’s reserve goalie, Kealeboga Hobona stepped up to produce a brilliant performance that thwarted the marauding Tafic strikers’ efforts to win the game to increase their lead at the summit of the Debswana FDN log.

The heavily built GNT reserve keeper earned the hearts of many as he easily saved with diving catches some of the missiles sent his way and keeping a clean sheet to earn his side a much deserved point against the much fancied Tafic. BOPA
