Outgoing Sankoyo Bush Bucks Football club chairman, Apollo Moalosi and marketing and communications manager, Phemelo Saleshando have been praised for their commitment towards transformation of the team.
In an interview, team manager, Onalenna Ditlhakanyane said he appreciated the good job done by the duo noting that they had reshaped the club through their hard work.
The duo resigned from the club last week after serving for 12 months but could not reveal reasons for their resignations.
They were co-opted into the club in February last year and their main objective was to transform the club and make it more visible and marketable.
Ditlhakanyane admitted that the duo announced their resignation in a meeting, adding “suprisingly, they addressed their resignation letters to Sankoyo village chief, Kgosi
Gokgathang Moalosi not to the club management as it has been the culture with other former members who have left.”
The team manager noted that they would be missed as they had the club’s interests at heart and were able to put many things in order.
Some of the good work, he said included acquiring club certificate, opening an account, securing medical aid for players and accommodation for the team.
However, there were some allegations that the duo resigned because of pressure from supporters as they accused the current management of failing the team.
The team manager could not comment on the said allegations but admitted that supporters were ‘good and quick at accusing management.’He said supporters had their own expectations from the executive committee but the management tried its best to take the team to another level and give it better image.
Ditlhakanyane thus urged supporters to learn to appreciate and stop pointing fingers at management all the time when the team failsedto perform to their expectations.
He said since the team was struggling to secure a sponsor, supporters could also try initiatives such as 'adopt a player' to meet the management half way as far as the welfare of the players was concerned.
For his part, the outgoing marketing and communications manager, Saleshando confirmed that he had submitted his resignation letter to Sankoyo chief, Kgosi Gokgathang Moalosi as the custodian of the Sankoyo community. BOPA
