GunnersPolice in goalless draw
23 Jan 2017
Football giants, Extension Gunners and Police XI Football club played to a 0-0 draw in a BTC Premiership league encounter on Saturday in Lobatse Stadium. The match went into half time recess goalless.
The game started on a very high tempo with both teams attempting to secure an early goal but failed until the end of the game.
Credit should be given to Kevin Sibanda and Betsho Pius of Police XI who played creatively in the middle field and kept Gunners on their toes with their good moves.
The duo failed to capitalise on the numerous golden scoring opportunities presented to them by errors committed by defenders of both teams.
Gunners tried and tested winger Kgololo Kgogobi and Washa Seleka but was more wasteful as they spent most of their time losing the balls that could have yielded them goals. Kanano Kgetholetsile was also wasteful as he lost many chances.
Desperate for goals Police IX substituted Elphas Nyambi and fielded David Makakaba, Phenyo Molefe and Ogomoditswe Sitang but also disappointed spectators.
Among Gunners reserves were Mandla Mgadla, Thabo Metlhayotlhe and Mothusi Cooper who were fielded after half time recess but there were no hopes as they were losing the balls.
With the attacks going back and forth strikers missing out on crucial goal scoring opportunities, the game ended with nil all draw. BOPA
