Ndangi Ndjambi hits shelves

09 Jun 2013

Moses Knight, known as Mos in the music industry has recently released his second album dubbed Ndangi Ndjambi (Tanki Jehofa).

The 12-track album was recorded at Blue Moon Music Studio in Windhoek, Namibia and also at Touch Records Studio in Botswana and comprises songs in both Herero and Setswana.

According to this God-fearing man, the album title was his way to show how grateful he was and thank God for carrying him through the difficult times in life.

Although Mos hails from Tsamaya village and belongs to the Bakalanga tribe, he explained that he wrote his songs in Herero and Setswana because he realised that people like Herero rhythms.

His intention was also to honour Baherero for the love that they gave him.

Further, Mos said he was happy that the album was doing well in the market both within and outside the country.

He noted that Namibians were very happy to hear his songs and that he was interviewed in their radio station after he was featured in Kutlwano magazine.

Following such exposure, he said, the album sales increased tremendously.

He added that the video of the album will be released in September.

“I am a Motswana who likes Botswana and Batswana generally become excited during independence and buying power is really high during this period,” he said.

Mos has encouraged gospel aspiring artistes not to aim at profit making when they join the music industry.

“One should instead preach gospel to people and also to be patient as the music industry is faced by many problems like piracy which can hinder their career to be successful,” he said.

The album also comprises titles such as Motholo, the title track Ndangi Ndajambi, Jehofa thusa and Bokamoso.

Mos said while he enjoyed singing in assemblies during his primary school days, his love for music was inspired by a South African gospel artist, Derrick Ndzimande. BOPA
