Ghana takes group lead, Egypt draws
A penalty awarded against Uganda on the 33rd minute gave Ghana a win and lead of Group D as the first round of group stages ended yesterday. In the late game, neither Egypt nor Mali could get past the other’s defense to score a goal despite several good attempts.
Group A returns for a second leg tonight with Gabon against Burkina Faso and Cameroon facing Guinea-Bissau as all teams look to take maximum points to top the group and break the stalemate.
