Chobe School operates beyond capacity

15 Dec 2016

Chobe Junior Secondary is designed as an 18 stream school, but it is currently operating beyond its capacity as a 21 stream says Assistant Minister of Basic Education, Mr Moiseraele Goya.

Answering a question in Parliament, Mr Goya said this overstretches the purpose the facilities were intended to achieve and explained that his ministry continued to provide expansion of educational facilities under the on-going ESP.

He said Chobe Junior Secondary would be provided with both classrooms and science laboratories to address the shortages within NDP 11.

Chobe MP, Mr Machana Shamukuni, had asked the Minister of Basic Education if she was aware that Chobe JSS was operating as a 21 stream school with infrastructure that was designed for an 18 stream school and that there was a serious shortage of classrooms at the school to cater for the increased enrolment; and if so, to state the plans in addressing the situation.
