Transfer policy not disregarded

The Assistant Minister of Basic Education Mr Moiseraele Goya has said his ministry has not disregarded the transfer policy with regard to spouses working in the same area as each other.
Responding to a question from Member of Parliament for Francistown South Mr Winter Mmolotsi, Mr Goya said it is one of the considerations that the government applies when taking decisions with regard to transfers.
Mr Goya stated that many of his officers seek transfers to Gaborone area “to be close to a spouse” saying but unfortunately they are unable to assist all that want transfers to Gaborone.“Certainly we do not deny like for like transfers, on swapping basis, in order to improve the welfare of our staff,” said Mr Goya.
MP Mmolotsi had asked the minister why the ministry has disregarded the transfer policy which encourages spouses to work in the same area or not far from each other. ENDS
