Extension Gunners coach Daniel ‘Chicco’ Nare has challenged his players to put a big performance when they clash with Township Rollers in the BTC Premiership at the National Stadium tonight (December 7) at 8pm.

Second placed Gunners produced a disappointing performance in their 2-1 loss to Gilport Lions at the weekend and their coach has stated that he wants to see a response.

Township Rollers on the other hand will come to the National Stadium limping after being held to a goalless draw by Miscellaneous at Otse Police Stadium on Saturday (December 3), with Joel Mogorosi failing to convert a penalty.

Before that, Mapalastina were beaten 3-2 by Mochudi Centre Chiefs, therefore Mark Harrison’s men would aim to halt their winless streak.

Gunners will welcome back the commanding figure of centre-back Desire ‘Sweswe’ Bafana who was suspended for the Lions clash. In his absence, Gogontle Marumo was roped in to partner Leteng Legopelo at the back.

In an interview, Nare stated that they want all three points.

“It is another tough match, but it is our home game and we are pushing for a win. I have challenged my players to regroup and put a better show. I am challenging them to stand up and show that we can compete against the best like we did against Mochudi Centre Chiefs (in the first match of the season),” Nare said.

“We know that we can get something if we can plan well. We are going to make changes in midfield and also one change at the back because Desire Bafana will be available,” the coach added.

In other BTC Premiership matches today, log leaders Orapa United will welcome Sankoyo Bush Bucks at Itekeng Stadium, Nico United host BDF XI at Selebi-Phikwe Stadium (5pm), Mahalapye Hotspurs host Gilport Lions at Serowe Sports Complex, Police XI meet Green Lovers at Otse Police Stadium, Black Forest clash with Security Systems at Molepolole Sports Complex and Jwaneng Galaxy host Mochudi Centre Chiefs at Jwaneng Stadium.

Matches will kick-off at 7pm. ENDS
