Maun Debonairs employs 40 residents

The newly opened Debonairs Pizza branch in Maun has created employment for 40 people from Maun and surrounding areas.
Ms Kiki Mosunda, the marketing manager, said the branch had created jobs for residents noting that they had hired cashiers, chefs, drivers and branch manager.
“We have decided to employ staff in Maun than to come with people from Gaborone or Francistown so that the locals could benefit too,” she said.
She explained that their mandate was not only to make profit but also to empower their customers and the communities they traded in.
“Debonairs Pizza is all about empowering people and encouraging the spirit of sharing amongst. Our products and services are meant to encourage people and families to have the spirit of sharing and giving”, she added.
She also pointed out that they decided to open a branch in Maun because people wanted their services as some had posted on their social network accounts requesting management to open a branch in Maun.
Furthermore, she said Maun was a big area and this presented an opportunity for them business wise.
The new branch came with a package of 4 motor bikes that will help in delivering orders, products and services to customers around and within 5km in Maun.
She said Maun was also a good place for business as it is a tourism place and a gateway to the Okavango Delta adding that most of tourists who visits the area would lack nothing but to enjoy all the available services and good products in their door step.
One of the newly employed youth from Shakawe, Ms Wame Kokoma said she was happy to be employed, adding that it was a dream come true for her to be employed on full time basis.
Ms Kokoma who is employed as a cashier said it is step in the right direction to see the locals being given the opportunity and priority when comes to job creation.
She wished other companies could emulate the practice noting that normally some businesses bring along employees from Gaborone. ENDS
