Perfect Moulds owner hopeful

06 Dec 2016

Perfect Moulds Investments, a Bobonong based business establishment, stands to be counted among the many Youth Development Fund (YDF) sponsored ventures.

Thanks to Ms Tiny Gabana who came up with the idea in 2013.

The business entity specialised in making different kinds of pillars and slabs, lintels and air bricks.

Speaking in an interview recently, Ms Gabana said she had employed two workers although she wanted to start with three employees but due to financial constraints she could not.

However, the entrepreneur was optimistic about future of her business and believed it would continue to flourish because it is facing less competition in the area.

According to her the business has received credit from customers expressing satisfaction over the quality of her products as compared those from similar entities.

This is so mainly because “at Perfect Moulds Investments we are committed to delivering high quality products, excellent customer service and we also offer free transport delivery to all the customers”, she stated.

She said the service and quality fulfills the needs of the customers and encouraged them to demand more.

Ms Gabana said since her business was not located at the village centre but at the village periphery of Rasetimela ward it was hard for people to know about her business and due to less advertisement.

The other challenge facing her business was high plot rentals and as a result she ended up operating from her home.

Her other obstacle was that she buys most of the materials needed in the business in Selibe- Phikwe which was costly and has bearing in her business.

All these challenges faced, she says, delay her to service back the loan to the YDF.

Ms Gabana pleaded with government to train the youth for the business they desire to open until they have good skills to run the business, emphasising that in order for a person to run the business they should at least have the knowledge and skills needed.

“You just cannot open up a business when you do not have any skills just because there was some financial assistance offered to you.

This was another reason some of the youth business have closed down and some were still poorly managed, she stated.

She further said government should monitor closely the youth businesses to ensure survival in the long run.

“There are always challenges and often life is complex but one just cannot give up because you failed to succeed in one project,” she said.

She advised the youth to be strong and have enthusiasm. ENDS
