JwanengMabutsane enjoys Presidential housing initiative

The Assistant Minister of Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, Mr Thato Kwerepe has said 655 people have benefitted to date from the Presidential Housing Appeal (PHA) Programme in the Jwaneng /Mabutsane constituency.
Responding to a question from Member of Parliament for Jwaneng Mabutsane, Mr Shawn Ntlhaile, Mr Kwerepe pointed out that contrary to MP Nthaile’s understanding, the PHA has assisted needy individuals and families in the constituency.
Mr Kwerepe said records indicate that nine houses have been built in the area, with one refurbished and two houses still under construction.
He further said 655 people have benefited from the programme in the last five years.
Mr Kwerepe stated that the criteria used to select deserving beneficiaries is through social workers assessment criteria.
He further pointed out that 38 houses are still under construction and 25 duly completed and waiting hand over across the country.
He also said among the houses, two houses under construction are for the Jwaneng -Mabutsane constituency.
MP Ntlhaile had asked the minister if he was aware that the Presidential Housing Appeal Programme has not been implemented in the Jwaneng-Mabutsane constituency.
MP Nthaile wanted to know the number of people who were identified to benefit from the programme in the last five years as well as the number of people who have benefitted to date.
He had also wanted to know the criteria used to select deserving beneficiaries and further wanted to know plans in place to provide deserving constituents with houses. BOPA
