Minister of Infrastructure and Housing Development, Mr Nonofo Molefhi, has told Parliament that there are 418 youth contractors under his ministry since inception of programme in 2009

Minister Molefhi was responding to a question in Parliament on Monday. He said out of all the registered companies 270 had benefited from the 15 per cent maintenance programme reserved for youth contractors.

He further said during the 2015/16 financial year, 50 per cent youth companies were contracted and out of those, three are from Ghanzi North.

He also said in respect to the value of the work done at the district, P1,899,241.20 worth of works was done in Ghanzi North. He explained that this is out of the total of P25,350,574.30 awarded to youth nationally.

The minister was responding to a question asked by Ghanzi North MP, Mr Noah Salakae who had asked the minister to state the number of youth construction companies registered under the department of building and engineering services that have benefitted from 15 per cent maintenance in Ghanzi North.
