Jwaneng police grapples with space shortage

20 Nov 2016

The Assistant Minister of Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, Mr Thato Kwerepe has told Parliament that he is aware of shortage of space at Jwaneng police station.

Answering a question in Parliament on behalf of the Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Mr Kwerepe said this was so because the number of police officers had grown, but the office space was not expanded.

He said there were no plans in the to expand the office block.

However, funds permitting, Jwaneng would be considered together with others for leasing of office space from the private market.

MP for Jwaneng- Mabutsane, Mr Shaun Ntlhaile had asked if the minister was aware of shortage of office space in Jwaneng police station and that it was common to find six officers sharing an office and if so, what action was being taken to address the situation. ENDS
