Kazungula Fighters itch for return

15 Nov 2016

Having barely settled in the Chobe Region Second Division league, former Debswana First Division North (FDN) campaigners, Kazungula Young Fighters have made their promotion  intentions clear.

Zulu Boys, as they are popularly known by their supporters, have so far won three games and lost two against Sedudu and Kopano.

The side campaigned for two consecutive years in the Debswana FDN before being relegated the past season and they have all the experience needed to wrap the second division in style.

Their players such as captain Johane ‘Fire’ Masule and Gofaone ‘Rwaza’ Tickey had been influential on their winning dominance this season.

“They are very experienced players, but as you know our team is blessed with so many talented players. Everyone when selected makes a great contribution to the success of the team,” said the acting team manager Lawrence Ratshetlho in an interview with BOPA.

Besides that, he noted that Masule and Tickey have played their football outside Chobe region thus their experience comes in handy for the up-coming young players to tap on.

Sedudu and Ferry Wanderers have also been keeping a close eye on the league title and looks set to give Fighters a run for their money.

“With only five games played so far, every team can still turn the table around, so I do not want to single out any team. I do admit that Ferry and Sedudu are playing well for now, but only time will tell how long they can maintain that,” Ratshetlho added.

Fighters will lock horns with Plateau Sporting Club at Prisons ground this coming weekend while in another interesting fixture, new comers Vision Boys will go head to head with Nyungwe. BOPA
