CKGR gets mobile health services

The Ghanzi District Health Management Team has commenced monthly outreach visits to Central Kalahari Game Reserve. According to the Assistant Minister of Health and Wellness, Mr Dikgang Makgalemele, the first such visit was carried out towards the end of October.

Speaking in Parliament on November 15, Mr Makgalemele outlined that services provided during the mobile stop include consultation of general patients, child welfare services such as weighing and vaccination of babies under five years, ante natal care, family planning and food rationing and conducting health talks.

“Referral cases can be made depending on the condition presented,” Mr Makgalemele said in response to a question.Ghanzi North MP, Mr Noah Salakae had asked the assistant minister to state whether health services are provided to people in CKGR.
