BMC Rivals beaten

BMC Rivals ladies team, were taught some softball techniques by Vikings when they clobbered them 10-3 in a Botswana Fibre Network (BOFINet) softball league played on Sunday at the National Diamond.
BMC Rivals first batter, Sethunya Poomore who was striked out immediately was followed by Phomolo Motswalakgoro, who did not impress as her bunt was easily dealt with by Othata Segolame to make it two down.
BMC Rivals hopes were now on Nthabiseng Buru, who did not disappoint but managed to hit a good ball, but could not run faster as she was tagged before even reaching the first base, therefore making BMC Rivals fail to register a single run in their first inning.
However, Vikings capitalised on that as they registered three runs in their inning through Irene Motonge, Eliya Lekgetho and Lapologang Ketlhoilwe.
The second inning was also dominated by Vikings also registering three runs by Lekgetho, Bogadi Mogomotsi and Motonge, while Rivals failed to register a single run.
The status quo remained in the third inning as Rivals continued to fail to make a run, while their opponents registered four runs by Tshwarelo Gabatsholang, Segolame Othata, Bogadi and Motonge.
However, although Rivals managed to register three runs in the fourth and fifth innings respectively it was too late for them to reverse the deficit and the game ended with10-3.
In other games played on Sunday, Vikings men had a field day by winning all their games. In the first game against Stringers, they recorded 13 runs while their opponents managed to run away with only three.
In their second game against BMC Rivals, they continued where their ladies left by beating them 8-1.
The ladies results therefore means Vikings are on position six with two points after playing three games, they won one and lost two games.
BMC Rivals are on position 10, after losing all their two games and they are yet to record a point.
Vikings men’s team are on position four with four points having played four games, winning two and losing two games. BMC Rivals are on position 12, after losing all their two games; they are yet to register a point. End
