President of Botswana Tertiary Students Sports Association (BOTESSA), Moffatt Ramasotla, has appreciated media contribution towards the association’s strategic plan success.
When addressing the media recently, Ramasotla said since April, they invited media to share BOTESSA’s programme for this year, thus forming a great strategic partnership with media and together journeyed through BOTESSA competitions at bracket level, national champs and CUCCSA tournament.
“As per the BOTESSA strategic objective five of improved strategic partnerships and 6 of improved visibility of BOTESSA, we felt that we should thank you for making those possible,” he said.
He said media had been in the forefront in making sure that Batswana were informed about BOTESSA’s activities, and did so by reporting accurate and fair materials about their events.
Ramosotla was of the view that since most of their funding came from government institutions, the media played a vital role in upholding accountancy when spending the monies, hence finding it important to request the media to join BOTESSA and extending gratitude to the media for their sterling job and partnership.
Furthermore, Ramasotla revealed that the association has had a number of challenges, citing the individually operating tertiary associations.
He pointed out that it poses a challenge for them to work as individuals other than operating under one roof.  
This, he said makes it difficult for them to find sponsors.
Ramasotla said the situation does not help much to their already financial prone status, since BNSC had reduce their financial assistance. Ends
