Glen Valley access road costs P5.3m

The Assistant Minister of Land Management, Water and Services, Mr Itumeleng Moipisi has told parliament that government spent P53.2 million for the construction of Glen Valley access road.
He stated that Bothakga Burrow Botswana in joint venture with Landmark Projects were awarded the project.
He said other companies that were sub contracted on the project are Asphalt Botswana and Bokone Reticulation Electrical Services.
Mr Moipisi said there were 89 Batswana that were engaged on the project without being categorised by constituency when they were employed.
He stated that there were five expatriates who were engaged in the project, adding that there are no concrete plans to construct traffic lights at Phakalane circle.
MP for Gaborone North, Mr Haskins Nkaigwa had asked the assistant minister how much was spent by government in the construction of the Phakalane/ Glen Valley access road.
He also asked him to state which company won the tender and which companies were sub contracted.
Mr Nkaigwa further asked how many Batswana were engaged in the project and how many of those were residents of Gaborone North constituency.
He asked how many expatriates were engaged in the project and if there are plans to construct traffic lights at Phakalane circle for ease of traffic and if so when would this be done. ENDS
