The Assistant Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services, Mr Itumeleng Moipisi has said Botswana government owns the borehole No 4239 situated at Okwa/Gwana farm.

Responding to a question from Member of Parliament for Ghanzi North, Mr Noah Salakae in Parliament, Mr Moipisi stated that as per their records, the borehole was drilled and completed on January 29, 1983 by the Department of Water Affairs.

Mr Moipisi also pointed out that the borehole was never allocated to anybody, adding that it never exchanged hands and therefore remained the property of the government.

Mr Salakae had asked the minister to state the names of the current owners of borehole No. 4239 at Okwa/Gwana farm.He had also wanted the names of the original owners of the same borehole and how and when it exchanged hands. ENDS
