Bobonong Cooperative Society is showing signs of growth in a turbulent and unpredictable area where many cooperatives have collapsed.
In an interview recently, Bobonong Cooperative Society manager, Mr Moeti Masole, said the cooperative had purchased a 2.1 hectare land and proposed to build a commercial centre in the village.

He said the envisaged shopping complex would have 24 units comprising among others, an anchor tenant expected to be a leading retailer, a conference hall, post office and a bank which he said would ease congestion at the existing ones owing to cramped space.
He said an area covering 608.3 square metres was earmarked for a filling station and its service points.

Mr Masole said the environmental impact assessment study done by Vome Consultancy was complete and has given thumps-up for the massive project.

He also said the architectural design was prepared by Mfanyana Architectural Services.

He said the P60 million development upon completion would increase economic activity in the village and boost small and medium entreprises in the process.

Mr Masole said this was in addition to the P4 million investments they have done by purchasing land in Odi which they did collectively with three other cooperatives, namely: Ditswammung SACCOS, Motswedi SACCOS and Selebi Phikwe Cooperative Society. ENDS
