Commitment perseverance key in business

31 Oct 2016

Commitment and perseverance are key elements to success in business.

Speakers echoed the sentiments at a men’s empowerment talk show in Jwaneng on Saturday.

The event, which was organised by The Brighter Side Life Coaching Company, brought together men of different ages and professionals to share skills and ideas on entrepreneurship and issues of grooming young men to become responsible future leaders.

One of the entrepreneurs, Mr Lee Sejoe of The Matrix Pavilion Company, urged his peers to focus on what they believed in and turn their passion into business.

He said sacrifice and commitment were best recipes for success, adding that it was never too late to be an entrepreneur.

The 20-year-old man, who is currently pursuing a Degree in Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Management at the University of Botswana, emphasised the importance of investing while still young to push and stand strong against business challenges, which he said are only meant to strengthen the business.

“Be open-minded and often elect to trade for opportunities as opposed to money because that will call for sustainable experience,” he said.

Another young entrepreneur, Mr Aobakwe Tsheboagae emphasised the importance of discovering one’s purpose in life.

He said it should be understood that the recipe of success entails being at the right place, with the right people at the right time.

He further urged aspiring entrepreneurs to position themselves well for opportunities.

The host, Mr Tshephang Rasethora of The Brighter Side Life Coaching Company also maintained that a belief has a vast impact on what a person does or the way they relate to the reality of life.

“Success has nothing to do with where you come from, but empowering believes gives positive outcome,” said Mr Rasethora.

He said wrong attitude works as a stumbling block and people need to realise that there is potential in every individual.

Mr Rasethora advised that there is always a second chance to make up for mistakes, which aspiring entrepreneurs should learn from. ENDS
