Goya not aware of transfer issues
30 Oct 2016
The Assistant Minister of Basic Education, Mr Moiseraele Goya says he is not aware that teachers at Kgosimpe Junior Secondary School are denied transfers despite compelling reasons.
Responding to a question from Jwaneng-Mabutsane MP in Parliament, Mr Goya said justifications for teachers including those at Kgosimpe are always considered and transfers effected as and when suitable places become available. He said this therefore was not punishment imposed on teachers.
Mr Goya further said there is no violation of Terms and Conditions of Service as transfers are always effected. Jwaneng-Mabutsane MP, Mr Shawn Nthaile had asked the minister if he was aware that teachers at Kgosimpe junior secondary school in Jwaneng are being denied transfers despite compelling reasons.
He also asked if this denial does not amount to punishment of the teachers and whether this is not a violation of the Terms and Conditions of the Teaching Service Management. ENDS
