Mingo bounces back with Party Phologolo

Gaborone West’s self-acclaimed king of kwaito-kwasa, Aminoni Mujokeri, popularly known as Mingo Touch, has managed to keep his head above water in the now defunct music genre and dropped another album.
The 23-year-old gravel voiced artiste shot to fame with his impressive debut album Tshaba tsotsi after being snapped up by Vee (Odirile Sento) of the Black Money Makers stable in 2005. The album did exceptionally well enjoying massive airplay both on radio and Botswana Television music shows. It featured tracks like Bona mapantsula and Ke na le modisa.
Now he returns with what he terms a ‘must-have’ for kwaito-kwasa lovers as his latest offering dubbed Party Phologolo is set to set the local showbiz industry ablaze. Just like any young artiste, he started off on a rocky ground, but after being featured by the then popular Gaborone West kwaito group Eskimos in the hit album Faratlhatlha, Mingo kept his head high and was inspired to do his own thing.
However, things turned sour for the youngster just after the popularity of Tshaba tsotsi waned as his next two projects did not draw the same attention.
After a six-year lull, he is now back to reclaim his glory and make waves on the top charts of local radio stations. He has worked with reputable artistes from South Africa and Zimbabwe and featured some of the finest lyricists locally in the mould of Atasaone Molemogi affectionately known as ATI as well as Amantle, a former My Star top five finalist.
He has also collaborated with Mosako of Di-Come together fame on track six Itshware. He featured Zimbabwean dancehall artiste Jah Praiser in a Shona hit dubbed Perekedza. T-boss, popularly known for his works in the infamous hit Sister Bethina is also featured in track 11, Askies. ENDS
