Letshego Holdings Limited launched Tlhoma Tante Improving life campaign on Monday.

Speaking during a press conference, head of consumer division at Letshego Holdings Limited, Ms Dimakatso Polokelo, said the campaign was part of a client retention strategy and a way of understanding their customer more.

“By this campaign, we will reward customers that demonstrate responsible use of their loans through a competition,” Ms Polokelo said.

She said existing customers would write a story sharing how they used their Letshego loans to improve their lives while new customers would narrate how they intended to use the loan.

According to Ms Polokelo, the grand prize for Tlhoma Tante would be five catering businesses with each consisting of one tent, 10 tables and 100 chairs, 100 sets of cutlery, 100 plates, one industrial stove and 10 chaffing dishes.

Ms Polokelo said Letshego sought to encourage productive lending by adding an incentive and rewarding customers that use loans for productive and profitable purposes.

“The improving life campaign forms part of the group’s continued commitment to being a leading African inclusive finance group and for this reason it will run in all 10 countries in which we operate, “she said.

Furthermore she said all activities to support the Improving life campaign seek to reaffirm Letshego’s position as a leading financial services provider that holds its customers in high regard and keeps them central to their brand promise.

For his part, Letshego Botswana chief executive officer, Mr Frederick Mmelesi said they were excited to have launched the campaign in Botswana especially after their previous campaigns in recent years which have rewarded a number of customers with productive assets and the investments they are making into financial education.

“We pay close attention to our customers’ behaviors to inform how we can be of relevant and impactful assistance, we are pleased that our research has shown that a considerable proportion of our local customers seek our solutions specifically to finance the buying of cattle, paying of school fees, home improvement and other investments that help them sustainably improve their families’ lives,” Mr Mmelesi said.

“We have realised growth as a group because we continue to listen to and learn from our customer’s life stories to develop solutions that both finance what they need at present and that transform them into active participants in our economy,” he said. ENDS
