Black Forest no walk in the park - GU
18 Oct 2016
Gaborone United will respect newly promoted Black Forest when the two teams clash in a BTC Premiership match at Molepolole Sports Complex at 7pm today (October 19). The encounter will be the first meeting in the league between the two sides.
Forest gave defending champions Township Rollers a scare last weekend by holding them to a 2-2 draw on their top flight debut. Therefore, GU public relations officer Ernest Mosedame feels the Mmankgodi team is a serious threat.
“We watched them play against Rollers and have seen that they are hungry for success even though they are new in this league.
So we are going to give them the respect they deserve. We are going to approach the match as if it is a cup final. We are not going to take any game lightly this season,” Mosedame said in an interview on Tuesday.
Moyagoleele has four points from beating Police XI 2-0 and drawing one all with Jwaneng Galaxy so far. Mosedame said the draw last weekend was a good result because Galaxy is a good team with many experienced players.
Mosedame said striker Moatlhodi Ralesota could feature against Forest after he was left out for the first two matches of the season.
“He has been working really hard in training and we expect him to play.
The coach has a plan and every player must work hard to feature in the plans of the coach,” he said.
Ralesota has been used sparingly since his arrival in January from Green Lovers despite scoring a lot of goals for the Serowe team last season.
In other matches, Extension Gunners will welcome Security Systems at Lobatse Sports Complex, Mahalapye Hotspurs hosts Green Lovers at Serowe Sports Complex, Nico United meet Gilport Lions at Selebi Phikwe Stadium, while Sankoyo Bush Bucks will lay in waiting for BDF XI at Maun Sports Complex.
The matches will kick off at 7pm except the Sankoyo/ BDF XI which is set to start at 5pm. ENDS
