Limkokwing suspends activities

29 May 2013

Limkokwing University management has decided to suspend indefinitely all student activities that include presentations, seminars and submission of assignments among others until further notice.

A news release from the institution, says this follows incidents of unrest caused by some students at the university’s Block 7 campus on May 22 -24.

It further states that the experienced acts of unrest included two attempted arson cases, vandalism of school property, and acts of violence against staff and management and riotously throwing stones at the police who tried to disperse the students.

The release says the decision was taken to ensure public safety and prevention of damage to university facilities and equipment.

There is very little student activity on campus now as the last examination papers were sat on May 24, a date upon which the semester officially ended, stated the release. ENDS
