Autlwetse commends church for restoring dignity

The Assistant Minister of Agriculture, Mr Kgotla Autlwetse has commended Serowe Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) church for seeing it necessary to play a significant role in restoring the dignity of the disadvantaged.
He said during the church’s Special Sunday Service themed: Oh Lord bless my country and Botswana will bless me on Sunday.
Mr Autlwetse who is Member of Parliament for Serowe North also performed ground breaking ceremony for a house to be built by the church for a disadvantaged family in Mannathoko ward.
The church also donated some food stuff to the needy family.
He said the gesture believes in the Vision 2016 pillar for a Compassionate Just and Caring nation and also a response to the President Housing Appeal.
He said responding to human needs through love and compassion in quest to transform livelihood is a commendable notion.
Mr Autlwetse said Christians as good citizens should be leaders in preaching love and peace among others.
The MP said he is humbled by the intended gift which is in line with God’s words on Galatians 5:22.
He said the church has certainly glorified God by dignifying another person’s life.
He said although the church is in its infancy, having been formed six months ago, they have made their intention known that they want to make a difference in other people’s lives. He said that is indicated by some of their charitable acts carried a while ago.
He said the project is a big one and said God will reward them for their act. Mr Autlwetse said the church plays a significant role in shaping the individual attributes of generosity through its teachings and urged them to do more.
He also applauded the church for taking the lead in praying for the nation, adding that their prayers have held the country intact from challenges encountered by many countries today.
He said churches across the country are expected to hold prayers on September 25.
The recipient of the envisaged house, Ms Khuduego Ntshusi expressed delight at the church’s gesture.
The 58-year-old who has been staying in an inhabitable house said the house will certainly prolong her life.
The church elder, Mr Rummy Mogasha said the event’s objective was to express gratitude to what God has done for them in the 50 years of independence. Ends
