Francistown High Court Judge, Justice Lot Moroka has said prize giving is a check point on the students’ journey of performance.
Speaking at Denjebuya Junior Secondary School prize giving ceremony in Tutume on September 16, Justice Moroka said the purpose of the ceremony was to check the students’ preparedness to complete the journey to success.
He highlighted the importance of education and urged the students to up their game and aim high.
He urged them to make informed decision and think about the things that they should do or not to do in order to succeed in life.
Justice Moroka congratulated the recipients of the prizes and encouraged them to maintain the same momentum until they became successful in life.
He also encouraged those who did not take any prize not to despair and work hard to achieve better results.
He explained that the success of teaching is student driven adding it was any teacher’s pride to see students excelling.
“Make education your priority study every day, pay the prize now and reap the reward later,” he said.
Justice Moroka called upon parents to take responsibility in their children’s education and help teachers to mould students to become better future leaders.
He emphasised the importance of team work in education saying teachers play a supportive role and parents assist on daily basis for the team to win.
A motivational speaker from Able Minds Engineering, Mr Pono Zulu urged students to take education seriously and avoid things which could impact negatively in their learning.
He urged student to aim high as there was no gain without sweat.
Mr Zulu cautioned parents to desist from indulging in activities that could make learning environment not conductive for students.
The theme of the prize giving was Taking Denjebuya to Greater Heights Through Organised Partnership. ENDS
