UA Exchange executive director, Mr Keshav Naik, says students should have creative minds so that they can be better leaders.
Speaking at the Broadcasters Organisation Awards ceremony themed Empowering and Engaging Young minds to Become Better Leaders, at Limkokwing University Hall of Fame last week, Mr Naik said positive thinking was important in daily lives and nothing was impossible in the world, adding “if you believe that you can do it, go for it.”
The theme, he said was appropriate because the awards would motivate students to put more effort in their academics so that they could be great leaders in future.
For her part, Ms Letlhogonolo Paulo, head of faculty of communications at Limkokwing University, said the Broadcasters Organisation was an association formed by their former students who studied broadcasting in (radio and television) and journalism from their institution.
Ms Paulo said the organisation’s main aim was to empower the young generation and motivate students to excel in their studies.
Thus, she applauded lecturers for allowing the Broadcasters Organisation to work with them in their schools.
She further said they would support the organisation so that they could be able to empower and engage students to become better leaders in future.
The Broadcaster Organisation project director, Mr Layani Elias, said the purpose of the event was to honour students and teachers who had excelled in their work.
Mr Elias said they had chosen 12 schools from Kweneng, Ramotswa and South East regions which were expected to compete against each.
That, he said was because they wanted to promote tolerance and cooperation between such schools. Further, he said as an organisation, they helped students to show and grow their talent. ENDS
