15 Sep 2016

With the beMOBILE Premiership season set to commence next month, newly promoted Security Systems are gearing up to take their place among the big boys.

The team returns to top flight football three years after they were unceremoniously booted out of the league without even kicking a ball for failing to pay affiliation fees.

This time around, they had vowed to make their mark and fight to retain their place in the elite league.

The team’s secretary general, Billy Molebatsi has promised the so called big teams to brace for a competitive Security Systems.

He indicated during an interview that the team has strategy in place to survive in the league.

Firstly, he said they had acquired seven new players to beef up the team in all departments from defence to strikers.

“We figured out that it was important to sign experienced players who have played in the league before,” Molebatsi.

Systems have signed Mgcini Sibanda and Tumelo Mazebedi from Orapa United, Osego Gaotewe from Gaborone United and youngsters Michael Pillar and Vincent Lekorwe on loan from Township Rollers. Furthermore, they have brought in Kago Segokgo from Jwaneng Galaxy and Onkgopotse Senatla from Police XI.

Molebatsi said their ambition was to finish among the top eight teams in the league, adding that it was possible considering their thorough preparations.

He said the team had performed well in a series of pre-season tournaments against league giants such as Rollers and Extension Gunners.

“It won’t be our first time playing against these teams on a competitive level. We have played against some of these teams during the Coca Cola Cup era,” he said.

Molebatsi said they had retained coach Thaloba Nthaga and were confident that he would keep the momentum going. ENDS
