He said this was due to the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the ministry of education and science of the Russian Federation and Botswana;s education ministry on cooperation in the field of education.
Mr Sibilev congratulated the students and parents on the beginning of the new school year.
He said the world was continuously changing and becoming more and more complicated, therefore sciences and technology were developing hence everyone neede good education, knowledge and professionalism.
“We are confident that you are the most able, talented and clever, future of the prosperous Botswana and you will have to transform Botswana for better to reinforce the economy and welfare of the people,” he said.
He indicated that more than 300 of Botswana students had studied and graduated from Russian and Soviet Universities
When giving his experience Mr Kennedy Letlhogela who is currently studying in Nizhny Novgorod University in Russia, advised students who will be starting their first year to concentrate on their studies and avoid doing anything that could derail them in achieving their goal.
He added that they should explore all opportunities presented to them, through making good choices if they want to graduate.
“There will be a thin line between you disciplining yourself and you following the rest of the lot, and also it depends on you, no one will do anything for you until you decide as a human being that you want to see change,” he said. ENDS
