Eastern Military Garrison (EMG) Boxing Club continued their dominance of the BDF inter-area boxing tournament from last year's competitions when they were crowned champions at Glen Valley BDF camp last week. 

The Selibe Phikwe based boxing team gathered 20 points and a golden trophy to retain the title for the second time in succession. SSKB tallied nine points for the second spot while Glen valley boxing club collected five points. Thebephatshwa Air Base managed only two points while Francistown Donga Camp finished at the bottom of the table with no point.

Meanwhile, EMG's Lentswe Zwinila’s bout against Gofaone Rabokhobo won the best bout award. Zwinila was also won the  best boxer awar while the best referee and judge award went to  Etsogile Ngwako.

Botswana Boxing Association secretary general Irene Telamo when addressing the clubs after presentations of medals said she was grateful to the BDF for hosting this tournament which promotes boxing as a sporting code in Botswana. She askes BDF to put money into boxing and ensure they link with their counterparts from other nations to host inter defence force boxing tournaments. Ends
