He said the day is important in the calendar of the public service, and that it should be taken seriously as it is meant to assist fellow citizens and community members who are in need.
For her part, the head teacher of the pre-school, which started its operations in 2003, Ms Onkabetse Mphuting, expressed gratitude at the generous work and donations which were extended to her school.
The donations included among others stationery comprising of crayons and papers, fruit trees as well as the maintenance of the children’s playground.
Ms Mphuting explained that the hospice pre-school was started by the Anglican Church after learning that some members and other community members had to leave their young children alone unattended while they hospitalised.
She said some of the children at the school are from areas around Gaborone, and are from various backgrounds as some are from under privileged families as well as those whose parents are drug addicts while others are orphans. ENDS
