Bank reaches out to Kanye community

Bangwaketse Kgosi-Kgolo Malope II says the new First National Bank (FNB) branch in Kanye has the potential to boost investors’ confidence within and around Bangwaketse capital.
Kgosikgolo Malope II who officially opened the new modern FNB branch said availability of good infrastructure and amenities such as banks played a huge role in one’s choice of business location.
“Bagaetsho, FNB has put us on the map by opening modern branch in our village. They have availed more space and modern banking facilities such as ATM with deposits, self-service and quick zones to give us great banking experience, cellphone banking and many more,” he said.
He noted that FNB has been more than just a bank to the people of Kanye and surrounding including the business community and that it has provided jobs for many since the inception of the first branch in 1992.
FNB chief executive officer, Mr Steven Bogatsu expressed satisfaction that the bank has over the past 25 years of its existence contributed to the economic development of Botswana.
According to Mr Bogatsu, FNB has adopted two dimensions which include being a responsible corporate citizen as well as giving back to the community.
He said relocation to the new facility was done with Kanye populace in mind and the need to offer services to the community in a spacious environment with a modern touch.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Agriculture, Mr Patrick Ralotsia thanked FNB Botswana particularly Kanye branch staff and management for remaining true to the organisation’s social responsibility programme during the occasion to hand over the kraals.
First National Bank Kanye branch manager, Ms Hildah Mooketsi said the construction of kraals was an answer to Kgosi Malope II’s wish to have alternative kraals to provide relief and do way with congestion usually experienced at the main kgotla facility. Ends
