Tladi eye third T20 cricket title
18 Aug 2016
Gaborone based Tladi will continue their defence of Botswana Cricket Association (BCA) T20 title with a semifinal clash against Phikwe Cricket Club (PCC) on Saturday (August 20) evening.
The match, which will kick-off at BCA Oval 1 at 6pm, will be preceded by a semifinal between Ditlhase and Francistown Cricket Club (FCC) at 2pm. Tladi have established supremacy on the T20 tournament having won the last two editions by beating Ditlhase in the final on both occasions. They are now gunning for a hat trick of triumphs in the competition.
But they must overcome a potential banana skin in the shape of PCC. PCC won all their three matches in the northern region to qualify for the knockout stage as winners of their region.
Tladi on the other hand finished on second position in the southern region after winning two matches and suffering one defeat. The southern region was won by Ditlhase with four points.
Tladi will rely on their good attack lead by batsmen Saad Mohyuddin, Zain Abbasi and Karabo Motlhanka to help them dispatch their northern opponents. The trio has been in impressive form.
The two teams that win the semifinals will fight for the trophy in the final on Sunday.
The final match will kick-off at 9:30am at BCA Oval 1. ENDS
