The Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration Mr Dikgang Makgalemele says the role of his ministry is to support the relevant agencies of government to undertake extensive reviews of strategic selection, design and implementation of projects.
Responding to a question in Parliament Mr Makgalemele said his ministry also provides strategic guidance and prioritisation, implementation assurance and monitoring of progress of the projects. Mr Makgalemele said the implementation of the projects lies with government ministries. He pointed out that his Ministry is charged with the monitoring the implementation of eight mega projects ; North South Carrier II and Power generation both that are powered by (MMEWR), Morupule 5&6, Morupule 7&8, refurbishment of Morupule A, as well as solar and CBM power generation.
He also said there is also Polaris II that is still powered by MMEWR, the Trans-Kalahari railway and coal handling facilities also by MMEWR, the Zambezi integrated agro- commercial development project, (MoA), Land servicing (MLH) Kasane-Kazungula tourism re-development initiative (MEWT) The Member of Parliament for Mahalapye West  Mr Joseph Molefe had asked the minister to apprise Parliament on government mega projects.
