Poly clinic for Mabutsane

A poly clinic with laboratory, X-ray, minor theatre, dental and 20 beds including 10 maternity beds and 10 general observation beds is planned to start during the current financial year in Mabutsane.
The Assistant Minister of Health, Dr Alfred Madigele said it was true that the 50 beds hospital was planned for construction in Mabutsane during District Development Plan 6 (DDC 6) for implementation in 2009. The budget for the proposed hospital, he added, was P52 million while the poly clinic was budgeted at P45 million.
The assistant minister was responding to a question in Parliament from the MP for Jwaneng-Mabutsane, Mr Shawn Ntlhaile who had asked the Minister of Health to state whether a 50 bed hospital for Mabutsane was proposed under DDC 6 for implementation in 2009.Mr Ntlhaile also wanted to know the amount that was budgeted for the proposal and if it was government’s plan to consider the proposal under Economic Stimulus Programme or during NDP 11.Furthermore, he asked when the proposed hospital project would be implemented.
