14 Aug 2016
Assistant Minister of Education and skills Development Mr Moiseraela Goya says Kgosi Mpe Junior Secondary School is a nine stream school and is currently operating in infrastructure designed for six streams.
Mr Goya told Parliament that at Kgosi Mpe JSS like most schools, the student’s population has outgrown the infrastructure.
He said the schools outdoor teaching areas have been converted into two classrooms hence Debswana Majwe mining company donated a hall which is used as a base room and a classroom for some practicals, adding that three extra classrooms have been created as a temporary measure.
He said the school has been performing relatively well despite the physical challenges and is in position two in the region with 51 per cent quality pass rate and 86 per cent transition rate to Senior Secondary education.
Mr Goya was answering a question from the Member of Parliament for Jwaneng Mabutsane Mr Shawn Ntlhaile who had asked if the minister was aware that Kgosi Mpe Junior School is a nine stream school currently operating with six stream facilities. ENDS
