BTC keeps in touch

Botswana Telecommunications Corporation continues to be responsive to the needs of Batswana by donating to different communities countrywide.
As part of efforts to promote digital inclusion, BTC recently donated ten computers and four printers worth P169 000 to the community of Shorobe.
The donations were handed over as part of the World Telecommunications and Information Society Day (WTISD) commemorations, which were held in the village recently.
BTCL also installed a point to multi point radio in Shorobe to cater for Internet service in the area.
The company also awarded three laptops to children who did well in Girls in ICT competition.
Handing over the computers, BTC board chairperson, Mr Leonard Makwinja said the company continues to play a significant role in ensuring that Batswana keep in touch through modern technology regardless of their address.
In partnership with Government, BTC embarked on the Nteletsa Rural Infrastructure Project, to bring mobile technology to the people and also establish Kitsong Centres in many villages in the North West.
Mr Makwinja said BTC and government brought these amenities closer to communities so that residents no longer need to travel long distances to make calls, buy air time or sim-cards.
BTC, he said will continue to be responsive to the needs of the communities in which it operates and commit resources to uplift lives. ENDS
