Blockages cause water shortage
09 Aug 2016
The Assistant Minister of Education and Skills and Development, Mr Moiseraela Goya says Lempu Junior Secondary School has acute shortage of water due to poor supply and blockages in the reticulation. He told Parliament on Monday that the ministry had consulted Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) to address the issue of water supply. The ministry, he said has installed a new water tank for the school fitted with a water desalination system, to control material build up in the system which has been responsible for the blockages in the pipes. He also said the extent of affected pipes has been measured and maintenance is expected to start in September and be completed by December this year. Mr Goya was answering a question from Member of Parliament for Takatokwane Mr Ngaka Ngaka, who asked the minister to update Parliament on the reticulation and shortage of water at Lempu Junior secondary school in Salajwe.
