SEDC has corruption committee
04 Aug 2016
The Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development has confirmed that there is a corruption prevention committee at South East District Council (SEDC).
Answering a question in Parliament, Mr Frans Van Der Westhuizen said in the last visit to the district, they established that there was such a committee which was meeting on quarterly basis.
He said the issue of payments to some companies for service not rendered has not reached the ministry and it would be addressed as soon as information to that effect is availed.
He was responding to a question from Ramotswa MP, Mr Samuel Rantuana, who had asked if the corruption prevention committees were in place in the South East District Council, and if so, why would the council pay some companies for services never rendered ENDS
