The current High Commissioner of Botswana to the United Kingdom is deployed where there is need and will be moved according to the exigencies of service, says the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr Pelonomi Venson- Moitoi.

Responding to a question in Parliament on Monday, Dr Venson-Moitoi said, “The high commissioner has stayed in one place as the government remains satisfied with his performance.”

She said prior to his appointment as high commissioner, Mr Roy Blackbeard served as Minister of Agriculture and was also Member of Parliament for Serowe North.

MP for Francistown South, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi had asked the minister when the current high commissioner of Botswana to the United Kingdom will be transferred.                                                      

 Mr Mmolotsi also asked why the envoy had stayed in one place for so long and what he was doing before his appointment to London. ENDS
