FNB supports agriculture

01 Aug 2016

First National Bank Botswana (FNBB) is committed to growing the agricultural sector.

In a press release, the bank pronounces how much it values relationships with the agricultural community.

The Panda Rest Camp engagement with farmers, the release says, served as a precursor to the Chobe Agricultural Show that took place over the weekend.

The release also states that the annual Chobe Agricultural Show provides an opportunity for farmers in the Chobe District and neighbouring areas to exhibit their products, to network and learn from each other.

It also says the show brought the community together in reflection of all that the Chobe District had achieved.

The bank also says its annual participation at the show, the cocktail served to gain insight into the trade and environmental issues which farmers faced.

It further says the agricultural sector plays an important role in the growth of the economy through food security and employment; hence the need for financiers, entrepreneurs, researchers, policy makers and the entire community to join hands and combat the challenges that face farmers.

Again, the release said the farmer of today needed more than just rain and sunshine, but skills, access to information, land and finance in order to penetrate the market.

Further, it said the bank continued to embrace every opportunity to be the farmer’s reliable financial partner in the farming business, as such it has created innovative solutions to cater for the needs of individual farmers.

Such include the Agriculture loan, which caters for one’s annual production input costs and capital expenditure, livestock or seeds costs and farm property improvements.

As Botswana’s leading bank in the digital banking space, FNB also provides additional benefits through platforms that allow customers access to banking 24/7, via online banking, cellphone banking, eWallet bulk send, ATM Advance and Slimline ATMs.

Such innovative products and services are geared towards giving customers greater control of their finances at their convenience. ENDS
