Officer acts as land board secretary for four years

The Minister of Lands and Housing, Mr Prince Maele has admitted that an officer was appointed to act as the Ghanzi land board secretary for four years.
Mr Maele said the officer was acting for an extended period as the substantive holder was on interdiction, and that it took a while to resolve the matter.
However, he said the officer was ultimately promoted and appointed as land board secretary on February 1 2016 and retained at the Ghanzi Land Board.
Mr Maele was responding to Member of Parliament for Ghanzi South Mr Christian De Graff, who asked if the minister is aware that Ghanzi land board has been acting in that position for about four years and to state the plans to appoint a substantive officer.ENDS
