Motaung Junior Secondary School does not have a purpose built kitchen, the Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development Mr Moiseraele Goya has said.
Responding to a question in parliament on Monday, Mr Goya said he was aware the students’ toilets tended to overflow, but said their upgrading had been included in the on-going maintenance at the school and the problem should be resolved by November this year.
He said while his ministry had agreed the kitchen at the school was below standard, they had repaired the electric and gas cooking pots to assist the school adding they did not have plans to construct a new kitchen due to financial constraints.
Kgalagadi North MP Itumeleng Moipisi had asked the minister if she was aware Motaung Junior Secondary School did not have a proper kitchen. He also asked if the minister was aware that the students’ toilets continue to overflow posing health hazard and when would a user friendly kitchen and proper toilets be constructed. Ends
