27 Jul 2016
Minister of Labour and Home Affairs, Mr Edwin Batshu says the Gender Affairs Department in Francistown has a staff establishment of two officers being senior gender officer and assistant gender officer.
Mr Batshu told Parliament on July 25 that the post of assistant gender officer was vacant and recruitment was ongoing, adding that the office was augmented by one temporary poverty eradication officer.
He further noted that in June 2016, the ministry employed five temporary officers to be deployed in Francistown, Tutume, Tonota and Masunga. Minster Batshu was responding to Member of Parliament for Francistown East Mr Buti Billy who asked the minister if he was aware of shortage of staff at the Department of Gender Affairs office in Francistown.
