There are nine High Court litigations and labour disputes involving the Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (BUAN), the Assistant Minister of Agriculture, Mr Kgotla Autlwetse, has said.

Mr Autlwetse said out of the nine, three were still pending, three settled out of court and three were completed in favour of BUAN.

He said the Industrial Court had two pending cases, while the labour office had since 2012 to date, processed 10 cases through mediation and only one was still pending.

The assistant minister said P310 935 was spent on the litigation cases.He was responding to a question from Gaborone North Member of Parliament, Mr Haskins Nkaigwa who wanted to know the total number of litigation cases and labour disputes involving BUAN at the High Court, Industrial Court and labour offices since 2010.

Mr Nkaigwa also wanted the minister to state the total amount of money spent on these cases in the same period. Ends
