Workers get protective garmets
25 Jul 2016
Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Frans Van Der Westhuizen, says his ministry provides disposable gloves, masks and leather gloves to Ipelegeng workers for their safety and protection.
Mr Van Der Weisthuizen told Parliament that due to the nature of the programme, which required beneficiaries to rotate on monthly basis and a limited budget, there could not be a provision of protective clothing like overalls and boots.
However, the assistant minister said funds permitting, procurement of full protective clothing could be considered in future.
The Member of Parliament for Francistown East Mr Buti Billy had wanted to know when the Minister would consider issuing Ipelegeng workers with protective clothing like gloves and masks. Ends
