Office covers news for radio Dailynews

Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration says the information office in Hukuntsi covers news for both Radio Botswana and DailyNews in the whole of the Kgalagadi North constituency.
Mr Dikgang Makgalemele said that was why news reports about Kgalagadi North featured both in Radio Botswana news as well as in other news and current affairs programmes such as Tatediso ya Dikgang.
He said recent coverage for Kgalagadi North goes back to April during which various activities and events were covered and broadcast on Radio Botswana.
“These include activities of the Hunhukwe village extension team, academic excellence awards at Ncaang Primary School as well as the official opening of the CEDA office in Hukuntsi in May, 2016,” he said.
Furthermore, Mr Makgalemele said there were no plans to post a Radio Botswana reporter to Hukuntsi because information officers stationed in Hukuntsi were adequate for the coverage needed.
He added that the set-up at the Hukuntsi Information Office was in keeping with the ministry’s efforts to promote multi-tasking by officers so that all constituencies benefit from news coverage even where there may be no news crew stationed in a given constituency.
Kgalagadi North MP, Mr Itumeleng Moipisi had asked if the minister was aware that there was no radio broadcaster to cover and air radio news and activities happening in the Kgalagadi North constituency, and if so, when would the radio broadcaster be posted to the information office in Hukuntsi to close the gap.
